Espresso 3 - Unita' 2 - Vivere in citta'
IIf you missed the lesson mercoledi' 13 maggio, this is what we covered:
- checked homework from previous week - summary of what happened to the story 'la traversata dei tre vecchietti' [pagina 23, esercizio 6] - the summaries were then collected for marking - you may email me yours if you wish
- began esercizio 8 pagina 25 by considering how to communicate when something is 'not allowed' - divieto di... and e' vietato [see examples in handout below] to prepare we also did a quick revision of possessives around the class eg: Di chi e' questa matita? E' mia; Di chi e' questo portapenne? E' mio. Di chi sono questi occhiali? Sono miei. Di chi sono queste bottiglie? Sono mie.
- esercizio 8 consists of putting the dialogue in the right order, and we first checked for understanding by going through each sentence to highlight unknown words eg: scortese = impolite; vigile = a traffic policeman; andarsene [io me ne vado, tu te ne vai, lui se ne va, noi ce ne andiamo, voi ve ne andate, loro se ne vanno] = to leave/go away; essere in vena = to be in the mood/to feel like doing something [eg: Sei in vena di studiare oggi? - No, non sono proprio in vena]
- in pairs we then put the dialogue in the right order and then role-played the scene, alternating characters
- in the next esercizio 10, pagina 26, we used the template below as a guide to discuss opinions on the need for certain bans/prohibitions
- in pairs for the next esercizio 11, pagina 26 we first prepared and then role-played characters A and B [based on the same format used in esercizio 9].
- the lesson ended with the reading - esercizio 12, pagina 27 - the questions at the end of the reading to be completed for homework.
