Intenzioni communicative: chiedere scusa [saying you're sorry]; raccontare cosa succede in un momento preciso [recount/tell/recall what happened at a precise moment]; esprimere interesse [expressing an interest in something]; stimolare la conversazione [stimulate conversation]; esprimere la propria opinione [epressing ones opinion]
if you missed the lesson mercoledi' 15 ottobre - this is what we covered:
-referred back to previous week when we had practised storytelling, and in pairs told a story based on materials provided - see handout below
-practised reading - see esercizio 6, pagina 113 - then in pairs checked for understanding by placing the sentences top of pagina 114 in chronological order - followed by esercizio 7, pagina 185 [vero/falso?]
-finally, a listening exercise esercisio 9, pagina 114 - this exercise highlights the grammar point - passato prossimo of the modal verbs dovere, volere, potere. If the verb following a modal is conjugated with essere,then the passato prossimo of the modal is also conjugated with essere - same goes for verbs that take avere
eg:
Flavia mangia.
Flavia ha mangiato.
Flavia ha volute mangiare con i nonni.
Flavia resta con i nonni.
Flavia e' restata con i nonni.
Flavia e' voluta restare con i nonni.
