Espresso 3 - Unita' 4 - Parole, parole, parole...
-the lesson began with listening to and then reading transcript [see attached] of telephone calls received by Marco who takes messages for his flatmates who have gone away for the weekend - see esercizio 11, pagina 50 - this is to practice changing discorso ditetto into discorso indiretto

-next we practised writing messages to one another in class - see example esercizio 12, pagina 50. Each pair wrote a message to another class member
eg: Per Kerry
and then the writers identified themselves: da parte di Georgie e Clem - whose message followed [it could be an invitation, an interesting observation, some advice].
eg: vuoi venire al cinema con noi?
The messages were then collected, shuffled and handed back.
Each pair then read the message [in direct speech, discorso diretto] and had to relay it to the person it was addressed to, by changing it into indirect speech [discorso indiretto].
eg: Kerry, Georgie e Clem hanno chiesto se vuoi andare al cinema con loro.
eg: Per Kerry

Espresso 3 - Unita' 5 - Invito alla lettura
We ended the lesson by checking for understanding of vocabulary in esercizio 1a - and then practising asking and answering the question:
-Che cosa leggi di solito?
-E con quale frequenza? [tutti i giorni; ogni tanto; spesso; qualche volta; una volta la settimana; mai; ]
COMPITO: practise writing approx. 150 words - on the theme city/country life - as per chapter 2 'Vivere in citta' page 20.
