If you missed the lesson mercoledi' 7 maggio, here is what we covered:
- we began by revising how to express aches and pains in different parts of the body (In turns, students mimed an aching part of the body and audience had to
identify the complaint and say: Hai mal di... or Ti fa male....... or Ti fanno male ............) - next we revised use of imperativo and compared the tu (informal) and the Lei forms (formal) (see first handout below)
- to consolidate, we completed the exercise - see 'esercizi imperativo' below - esercizio 3: in pairs, one partner began by taking one of the situations in the
boxes eg: Sono stressata / o - and the other would look for the answers amongst the 7 possibilities - in this case - 'Riposa di piu' e lavora di meno! The 2nd part of
the exercise consisted of going on to esercizio 4 and changing into the imperativo formale all the answers which had been in the imperativo informale in the first part. - a whole-class reading followed of a dialogue between a medical doctor and his patient (see 'dal medico' handout below). It was noted that the doctor gave
advice using the modal verb dovere: deve smettere...; deve restare ...; deve prendere...
and then towards the end of the dialogue, the informal imperativo: presenta la ricetta, paga il ticket. To practice, we re-read the dialogue but changed all these verbs
into the imperativo formale (the Lei form: smetta, resti, prenda.....and so on - a writing exercise followed (see 'dal medico e in farmacia' handout below) where the two columns were filled in: Disturbi (symptoms) and Consigli (advice) - according to the information contained in the dialogue
- finally, we listened to the dialogue Espresso 2 pagina 77 esercizio 2 In farmacia and completed the information on the 2nd part of the 'dal medico e in farmacia' handout where the Disturbi (symptoms) and Consigli (advice) - columns were completed according to the information contained in the dialogue. All the verbs in the dialogue in the imperativo form were identified and used to complete the table on pagina 78 of Espresso 2.
Compito: Espresso 2 pagina 163 esercizio 4 Tu e Lei; pagina 164 esercizio 5 Forme irregolari; e esercizio 6 Consigli
