If you missed the lesson mercoledi' 22 maggio - here is a summary of what we covered:
- we followed on from previous week by revising all vocabulary related to describing appearance (see first page of handout)
- we also revised the use of verb sapere (to know how to do something) - see 2nd page of handout
- there was a particular focus on revising words that add a dimension to what is being described: eg - e' piuttosto grassa (she is rather fat) - or describe the degree to which one can accomplish something: eg - non sa piu' giocare bene a tennis (he/she doesn't know how to play tennis well anymore)
- Pairwork followed - with each pair of students preparing an oral activity based on Espresso 2 pagina 35 esercizio 7. Students prepared scripts based on the dialogue on page 34. In the role play - they met, exchanged pleasantries, then talked about and described two other personalities (chosen from the photos in Espresso 2, pagina 35, esercizio 7). Congratulations to all participants! We had some exceptional dialogues which reflected excellent use of language - BRAVI!
- A reading exercise followed (Espresso 2, pagina 36, esercizio8 La Zeze') Homework: on last page of handout, see if you can describe the two characters: Zeze, and the author, Natalia Ginzburg.
- in the last paragraph of the reading we noted the phrase 'se ne va alle quattro e mezzo' - this introduces the verb andarsene (to go away) - there is a full conjugation of this verb on the last page of the handout
